8A from Coach Kelley -*
“Last night the Lady Apaches 8th grade A team took to the court against
Dodge City- Comanche in a road contest. The Lady Apaches would struggle to
catch up to the Coyotes in the first quarter and would enter the second
quarter behind 6. However they would come out and take the lead 13-11 going
into the half. They would keep a secure grip on the lead the rest of the
game. Consistently putting up good shots. Shamari Lewis #5 would have a
season high of 30 points. Miranda Rosales #3 and Maya Lopez #42 would have
4 pts each. Lynette Alonso #52, Meriah Olivas #23, and Allisson Rios #15
would each have 2 points a piece. The Lady Apaches 8th grade A would secure
the win 44-23. The Apaches head coach Breanna Kelley had this to say “I am
extremely proud of the attitude and performance they never gave up and
showed that determination really goes a long way in the game. It was a team
effort and we are starting to get more comfortable taking shots and a lot
of the girls stepping up into leadership roles. I am excited to see what
the rest of the season brings.

The Lady Warriors opened the game strong with three quick baskets from Jasmin Huaman and Stacy Bangs. The Warriors continued to play well in the first half shutting down the Cardinals 14- 0. Eisenhower continued to dominate the rest of the way, finishing with a 26-7 win.
Offensively, the girls are finding open lanes and finishing lay-ups and shots. Defensively,we did a better job blocking out and rebounding. However, we still need to be quicker and anticipate better.
Leading the Warrior attack was Jasmin Huaman with 8 pts, Stacy Bangs 6 pts, Alidah Amando 4pts.  Mia Macias, Karolina Espinoza, Mille Jarquin, and Danyelle Love each added 2pts.  Great Job Lady Warriors!
