Thursday night in Garden City the Eisenhower Middle School Football Team swept the Kenneth Henderson Falcons winning both seventh and eighth grade games.
The warrior seventh grade team started off with an immaculate drive capped off by a 12 yard Jayden Heronemus touchdown run off the right side which push the score to 6 to 0 warriors. The Falcons answered quickly and went down on their first drive and also scored making it 6-6 then after a Warriors punt the Falcons took the ball again and drove down the field one more time to score their final score of the game and put the score at 12 to 6. After another Warriors punt the Falcons took over with about one minute left in the second quarter. That’s when Jaden Heronomus intercepted the Falcons quarterback and took a pick 6, 47 yards to the house for a touchdown. On the ensuing two point conversion, Jaden Heronomus took a pitch off the right side and scored pushing the score to 14 to 12 warriors at the half time break. In the second half the warriors defense really clamped down on the Falcons not allowing a single score and only allowing three first downs the entire second half. They also came up with another interception this time it was Amir Covarubbious who set up the Warriors put away drive with an interception and a return of 12 yards. After the interception Jaden Heronemous put away the Falcons with a 62 yard touchdown run off left tackle. That put the Warriors up by eight at 20 to 12. At the end it was Max Holman who sealed the victory for the Warriors with a two point conversion on a naked bootleg off right tackle and the Warriors scored their final points of the game to go on to win their first game of the season 22 to 12.

After three and out from the Falcons the Warriors took back over and on the third play of the game Josiah Vargas following the block of Angel Peregrino took an inside run 33 yards for a touchdown pushing the lead to 14 to 0. The next two scores would be from the Warriors thunder back Jairo Martinez who had an 11 yard touchdown run on the sixth play of the game and then also returned a 20 yard punt return for a touchdown. Josiah Vargas would add a 1 yard touchdown run and Austin Dodge would add a 49 yard touchdown run to complete the scoring for the warriors as they defeat the Kenneth Henderson Falcons 46 to 0.
