Manhattan Sweeps Redskins

The Liberal Redskins traveled to Manhattan to play the #8 ranked Manhattan Indians Saturday morning and afternoon at Cico Park in Manhattan.  The Indians topped the Redskins 5-0 and 8-3.

In game one, the Indians out-hit the Redskins 6-2.  Manhattan scored two in the first, one in the third, and one in the fifth.  Blayden Betts pitched six strong innings with six strikeouts and three walks.

In game two, the Indians had seven hits and LHS had five.  Manhattan scored three in the first, one in the second, and three in the third.  LHS scored three in the sixth.  Ethan Olmstead and Austin Dodge had two hits a piece.  Kye Morris had a double and three RBI’s.  Bentlee Betts worked 2 and 1/3 scoreless in relief.

Manhattan is 14-4.  Liberal is 9-13 and hosts Dodge City Tuesday at 4pm with Redskin Pre-game at 3:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
