LWC Competes in Kansas and Texas
Liberal Wrestling Club had a busy weekend. 15 wrestlers traveled to Amarillo, TX for the
Wesley tournament on Saturday while 12 traveled to Dodge City, KS on Sunday for Boothill
Brawl. 3 wrestlers were also going to represent LWC in Leoti, KS on Saturday. However, that
was canceled due to weather.
Six of Liberal’s wrestlers brought home first place plaques from Amarillo. “With only 15
wrestlers, our team took third place behind teams that had 33 and 48 wrestlers. I am very proud
of how we performed individually and as a whole. I am very excited to see how we do next week
in Claude, TX,” said Head Coach Bill Holcomb.

The wrestlers that traveled to Dodge City brought home one first place finish. The
wrestlers had some great competition and know that they can hang in there with the others.

Also attending the tournaments this weekend were Victor Zuniga, Aldo Avitia, Nathan
Boese, Lucas Montoya, and Ethan Zabel. They all wrestled well but came up short of placing.
Liberal Wrestling Club will be traveling to Claude, TX this weekend for the High Plains
Shootout.
