Liberal Wrestling Club Takes Wrestlers to Pueblo

On Saturday, October 25, Liberal Wrestling Club wrestled at a new tournament put on by
RMN Events, King Slayer. This tournament was held in Pueblo, CO at the State Fair Grounds.
There were eleven wrestlers from the club that attended.

The day started at 9 AM with a motivational text from new coach, Trevor Pipkin. The
message was encouraging to the team. “Good luck everyone. Push harder when you feel like
giving up. You are all capable of much more than your mind lets you believe. Choose to
fight-win or lose. We only lose in life when we choose to give up, losing a match but not giving
up is winning.” The kids carried this with them and put on a great showing for our club.

Liberal Wrestling Club had 4 first place finishes. Iovani Chavez took first with 2 pins.

Chavez is a freshman this year and we are looking for him to do great things at the high school
level. Haley Zabel took first as well – in 2 different age groups. She ended the day at the top of
the 12U and 15U for her weight with 2 tech falls and 3 pins on the day. Kendall Mosttler also
took first with 2 pins.

Other results are as follows:
Brian Casas, 2nd, 1 tech fall
Nathan Boese, 6th
Easton Lopez (6U), 4th, 2 pins
Easton Lopez (8U), 3rd
Alyvia Holcomb, 4th
Ian Holcomb, 3rd, 1 pin
Lill Osborn, 3rd
Marco Jimenez, 5th, 1 pin
Jacobie Fraire, 2nd, 1 pin

The club has a full season ahead! The next 2 tournaments that members will attend will
be held in Tulsa and Amarillo.
