Liberal Wins a Sub State Match Before Loss to Northwest

Liberal continued their resurgence in their 2021 volleyball season on Saturday at their 6A sub state at Wichita Northwest High School.  They won their opening match over Manhattan but lost to now 39-1 Wichita Northwest in the sub state final.  Liberal beat Manhattan 26-24, 19,25, 25-18.  The Redskins lost to Northwest 21-25, 16-25.  Bree Horyna had 25 kills and Rylie Hallman added 11 kills and 19 assists.  Liberal finishes 19-16.  It’s their first winning season since 2016.
