Liberal Opens Home Softball Season with Losses to Garden City

The Liberal softball team played their first of what will be eight softball games at home on Thursday afternoon and evening at the National Beef Sports Complex.  Garden City beat LHS 12-2 in six innings and 5-3.  Liberal had just one hit in game one.  Jenna Ormiston pitched game two and struck out eight allowing four earned runs.  Ormiston, Lexi Miller, and Maedeen McClure had three hits a piece.  Garden City is 8-2 and 4-2 in the WAC.  Liberal is 2-9 and 0-5 in the WAC.   Liberal hosts Great Bend on Monday.
