Liberal Girls Take 2nd at El Dorado

Brock Kappelmann - October 9, 2023 6:29 am

El Dorado

LHS XC headed to El Dorado for the last regular meet of the season before WAC at Great Bend. The course was located at El Dorado Lake and it was a cold morning with temperatures in the low 40’s. This was perfect running weather for the Redskins as both teams had multiple personal bests for the season. On the girl’s side, Daniela Cerda would break the twenty-minute mark with a time of 19:56 coming in 2nd. There were 3 more girls Janaya Devorce (8th), Jenny Casas (18th), and Isabela Gutierrez (22nd) who would medal on for the girl’s team and help them capture a 2nd place finish behind Emporia.

It was like deju vu on the boys side as we saw basically the same results. Cesar Pavia would lead the boys with a 5th place finish with a time of 16:22. Just like the girls 3 more boys would come home with medals leading to another 2nd place finish as a team. Medaling would be Beto Torres (9th), Alex Koerner (16th), and Alejandro Pando (21st).

Boys and Girls would head to Great bend for WAC on Thursday.
