The Liberal girls soccer team is now 1-1 at the Wichita South Titan Classic.  After an 8-0 loss to #3 Bishop Carroll in 50 mph winds in Wichita on Monday, LHS enjoyed much better weather and a better outcome Wednesday afternoon.  Liberal defeated Wichita Heights 2-1.

Liberal led shots on goal 17-2 and had multiple opportunities and did not finish.  It was scoreless at halftime.  Valeria Gonzalez opened up the scoring for the Lady Red in the second minute of the second half and Jasmine Hernandez dished the assists.  After a defensive breakdown, the Falcons tied the score finishing with a 1 on 1 with Liberal’s goal keeper.  Ashley Carrillo won a ball and took a shot from outside the 18 yard box to give LHS the go ahead goal at the 20 minute mark of the second half.

Liberal plays #9 Wichita East who beat #10 Dodge City 4-3.  The game is on Saturday at Wichita South.
