Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves Resolutions

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm at City Hall. After hearing an update from the EOC(Emergency Operations Command), the Commissioners approved the purchase of property at 205 E. 3rd Street in the amount of $575,000.00.

The Commission also approved 3 Resolutions:

Resolution 2340 authorizing Certain Public Improvements and Providing for the Payment of the Cost

Resolution 2341 authorizing improvements to the City Water Supply System and Providing for the Payment of the Cost

Resolution 2342 authorizing the Offering for sale of one or more Series of General Obligation Bonds of the City of Liberal.

Commissioners approved the bid award to French Construction in the amount of $43,605 for the Liberal Playground Parking Lot, and approved moving the Commission Meeting time back to 5:30pm.

City Commissioners approved the purchase of 21 Thermal Temperature Scanners in the amount of $24,609.58, and approved the reimbursement for the purchase of backpack sprayers and disinfectant solution for the Liberal Fire Department in the amount of $4,126.00. The Commissioners also accepted the Memorandum of Understanding from Seward County and authorized the execution of the Memorandum of Understanding.

And in a consensus, the Commission allowed the Chamber of Commerce to move forward with a Downtown Street Light Decorating Contest between 2nd and 4th Streets. Interested individuals can get a list of the rules at the Chamber of Commerce Office.
