The Liberal girls soccer team is 1-1 after winning their second game of the season 2-1 at Buffalo Stadium in Garden City on Thursday.  Two nights after a frustrating home loss to Dodge City, the Liberal girls get in the win column.

Garden City scored early in the first half at the 7 minute mark off a corner kick.  Ashley Carrillo found the back of the net to level things up at the 25 minute mark.  Johana Ortuno dished the assist.  It was 1-1 at halftime.  Carrillo then scored on a breakaway play assisted by Lesley Hernandez with 11 minutes remaining in the second half.

Liberal led shots on goal 8-5.  Both teams had three corners.  Liberal led offsides 5-1 and LHS had one yellow card.

The Lady Red travels to Wichita Monday for the Wichita South Titan Classic against Bishop Carroll at 4 pm.
