Liberal All Over Alva in 9-0 Win

The Liberal Lady Red soccer team enjoyed a 9-0 win over the visiting Alva Goldbugs Tuesday night at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex.  Nicole Catalan, Hailey Contreras, and Coraima Chavira scored two goals a piece in the win.

In the first half, Nicole Catalan scored and Mayra Hernandez assisted.  Evelin Tarango scored the second goal with an assist from Arely Molina.  Nicole Catalan scored off  a Hailey Contreras assist before Contreras scored off a Catalan assist.  Coraima Chavira scored before half off a Hailey Contreras assist for a 5-0 lead at half.  Coraima Chavira began the second half scoring with a Hailey Contreras assist.  Mayra Hernandez scored and Arely Molina assisted.   Freshman Emily Vazquez scored her first varsity goal.  Hailey Conteras capped off the scoring for the 9-0 lead finishing with two goals and three assists.

Alva is 4-6.  Liberal is 6-4-1 and plays at TMP in Hays on Thursday.
