LHS Drops Salina Opener

The third ranked Salina South Cougars stayed unbeaten with a 69-31 win over the Liberal Redskins Thursday night at Salina South High School.
The Angry Red raced out to an 8-5 advantage against the heavily favored Cougars.  Salina South led 12-10 after one quarter.  But the Cougars roared to a 14-0 run to begin the second quarter and led 33-19 at halftime.  Salina South led 60-27 after three.
AJ.Ramirez scored 10 in the loss.  Liberal was 0-15 from three point range and 3-10 at the free throw line.
The Redskins drop their fifth straight and are 2-7 while Salina South improves to 7-0.
Liberal plays Concordia Friday night at Salina South High School  at 7 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
