Lady Saints Survive Allen Three Point Assault

The Seward Lady Saints were a made free throw away from their season ending Saturday afternoon at Allen County. But the Allen free throw attempt rimmed out and Seward dominated overtime in a 73-60 win in Iola. The Lady Saints advance in the Region 6 Tournament and will play at Hutchinson Tuesday at 5:30 on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.

Seward trailed most of this game including 39-33 at halftime after the Lady Red Devils made 8-17 three pointers. Allen led by as many as eight early in the second half. The game was tied at 58 with 4:42 to play and neither team would score again until overtime. The Lady Saint defense held the Lady Devils to just two points in the final 9:42 of the game. Allen cooled off from three point range going 11-35 for the game. Madison McLain led Seward with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Shanise Brooks scored 18 and pulled down eight rebounds. Ricquia Jones scored 13 and dished four assists without a turnovers.

Seward is 20-10 while Allen finishes 14-17.
