Lady Saints Race Past Pratt for Region 6 Win

The Seward Lady Saints are marching on in the Region 6 women’s basketball tournament.  Seward topped the Pratt Lady Beavers 81-49 Saturday night in the Green House.  Seward will play at Coffeyville Tuesday night at 5:30 on 107.5.

The Lady Saints led 21-17 after one quarter and out scored Pratt 17-5 in the second quarter to lead 38-22 at halftime.  Seward out scored the Lady Beavers 25-16 in the third to lead 63-38 after three quarters.  The Lady Saints had an 18-11 advantage in the fourth quarter.

SCCC held Pratt to 33 percent shooting and forced 24 turnovers.  PCC was 6-26 from three and 3-10 at the free throw line.  Seward shot 47 percent in their final Green House game.  SCCC was 7-19 from three and 12-18 from the foul line.  Seward out rebounded Pratt 45-36.  Seward committed 15 turnovers.

Kylee Hunt scored 15 in her final game in the Green House.  Allie Myers had 13 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals in her last home game.  Ari Gordon used her last home game to go for 11 points, nine rebounds, and six steals.  Avery Marchino scored 10.

Seward defeats Pratt in the opening round for a second straight year.  Pratt finishes 8-23.  Seward improves to 20-11.  It’s the first time since 2022 that Seward won 20 or more games.  Seward plays in the Region 6 quarterfinals Tuesday night at 5:30 at Nellis Hall in Coffeyville with Saints Shoot-around at 5:15 on 107.5.
