It was anybody’s game after three quarters with Seward and Coffeyville tied 38-38. But the #25 Lady Ravens out scored SCCC 17-7 in the fourth quarter as Coffeyville continued their recent dominance over the Lady Saints with a 55-45 win Tuesday night in the Green House.
For the second straight game, the Lady Saints got off to a slow start. Coffeyville led 14-4 and 17-6 before leading 17-8 after the first quarter. Seward out scored CCC 18-10 in the second quarter. Seward tied it a 22-22 before Coffeyville led 27-26 at the half. The Lady Saints got off to a strong start in the second half and led 29-27, 33-30, and 36-34. The game was tied at 38-38 after three. Seward was 3-11 in the fourth quarter while the Lady Ravens were 7-12.
Seward shot 37 percent from the field while going 5-20 from three and 2-2 at the foul line. Coffeyville shot 40 percent from the field while going 5-17 from three and 8-11 from the free throw line. Rebounding was even 32-32 and turnovers were close as Seward committed 21 and Coffeyville had 20.
Avery Marchino was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 18 points. Kimora Fagan scored 10.
Coffeyville is 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the KJCCC. The Lady Ravens have won five of the last six against Seward. Coffeyville has won four of the last five in the Green House. Seward falls to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the Jayhawk. Seward plays at Hutchinson Saturday afternoon at 4pm with Saints Shoot-around at 3:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
