The Liberal Lady Redskins erased an 11 point halftime deficit to defeat the Lakin Lady Broncos 61-46 Tuesday night in Lakin. LHS outscored Lakin 45-19 in the second half and finshed the game on a 19-0 run. Liberal used their full court press to rally. LHS won despite going 7-19 from the foul line.
Lakin jumped out to a 13-4 lead and 14-7 after one quarter as Liberal missed multiple two footers and went 1-5 from the free throw line. The Lady Broncs led 19-8 early in the second quarter. Lakin led 25-14. It was 27-16 at the half. A 10-2 run made it 29-26 Lakin with 4:39 to play in the third. A Kylie Rhine three pointer tied the game 29-29 for a 13-2 run. Lakin recovered to lead 42-36 after three. LHS took their first lead at 45-44. They led 48-44 with 3:34 remaining. Liberal’s lead ballooned to 13 at 57-44. LHS led 57-46 with 1:32 to play.
The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is Shamari Lewis with 23 points. Kylie Rhine added 18.
Lakin’s win streak ends at seven as they fall to 13-4. LHS is 13-2 and has won seven in a row. Liberal hosts Hays Friday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
