Lady Red Overpower Great Bend

The Liberal Lady Redskins ran away from the Great Bend Lady Panthers Saturday night in the Big House.  LHS out rebounded the Lady Panthers 30-12 on the way to the 58-37 blowout win on homecoming night.  Liberal is now tied with Dodge City for first place in the Western Athletic Conference at 5-1.

Liberal bolted out to a 7-0 lead and led 12-6 before leading 13-9 after one quarter.  Liberal dominated the second quarter taking a 24-13 lead and heading into their locker room at halftime with a 29-17 lead.  LHS took third quarter leads of 34-19, 38-21, and 45-23 before leading 45-25 after three.  The Lady Redskins led by as many as 24 at 56-32 on the way to their 14th consecutive win against Great Bend.

Liberal shot 44 percent and Great Bend shot 41 percent.  However, Liberal bullied GBHS on the boards and put up 18 more shots.  LHS was 4-15 from three and GBHS was 2-11.  Liberal was 8-15 at the foul line and Great Bend was 7-11.

Keyona Hall scored 15 and Hailey Contreras scored 14.  Hallie West scored a career hight 12.  Shamari Lewis added 10.

Liberal is 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the WAC.  Great Bend is 7-12 and 1-6 in the WAC.  Liberal hosts Garden City Tuesday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
