Lady Red Moves Past North

The Liberal Lady Redskins win their eighth consecutive sub state opener with a 58-12 win over the Wichita North Lady Redhawks Tuesday night in the Big House.  Liberal forced 27 turnovers and held North to 4-20 shooting for the game.

North led 6-2 early.  The Lady Redskins led 15-7 after one quarter.  Liberal used a run of 19-0 and 23-1 to lead 25-7.  It was 30-10 at halftime.  North did not score a field goal in the second half.  It was 51-11 LHS after three.  A running clock was used in the fourth quarter.

Liberal shot 38 percent from the field and went 4-17 from three.  Liberal out rebounded the Redhawks 33-14.

Hailey Contreras was Epic Touch Player of the Game.  She had 19 points and seven steals.  Shamari Lewis had 15 points and nine rebounds.  Elle Hatcher grabbed nine rebounds.

North finishes 3-18.  Liberal is 15-6 and hosts Manhattan Friday night at 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.  Redskin Pre-game at 5:45.  Manhattan beat Topeka 62-43 to advance.
