Katie Horyna is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal sophomore cross country runner Katie Horyna is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week.  Horyna won the Borger meet on Saturday in 11:48 for the two mile race.  Her 11:00 split in the 3K was good enough for a school record surpassing Kathryn Wolfram’s time of 11:09 in 1995.  Horyna was an all state runner last year taking 7th at state.  Horyna has already shaved three minutes off year time in the pre season time trials heading into this season.  She also plays basketball and runs track.  She and the LHS cross country teams compete at Hesston on Thursday.
