Liberal High School power lifter Josue Castaneda is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Castaneda helped the Iron Reds win the 5A state championship in Wichita March 7.  He was the individual state champion in the PWR division.  He benched 295 pounds with a squat of 495 and a deadlift of 450 pounds for a total of 1,240 pounds and a ratio of 4.681 for first place.  He is also a standout Redskin football player on the defensive and offensive line.  He is a thrower in the Redskin track and program.
