J. Brooks Kappelmann is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal junior baseball player J. Brooks Kappelmann is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Brooks helped the Redskins win their first two games against Hugoton on Thursday.  He pitches and plays shortstop for the 2-0 Redskins.  Kappelmann pitched all five innings of game one with 13 strikeouts and no walks.  He allowed one hit.  Brooks was 3-4 with two doubles and four runs in game two.  Kappelmann also participates in football, basketball, powerlifting, FCA, NHS, musical theater, and student council.  Kappelmann is the junior class president.  He is the president of the All Are Welcome club at LHS.  Kappelmann and the Redskins host Garden City Tuesday night at about 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.
