Increased Numbers for LHS Girls Swim

Despite taking a graduation hit from last year’s team, numbers are up for the Liberal High School girls swim team. After losing 13 seniors from the 2023 team, LHS had about 33 girls out for swim this spring. Ismael Carrillo is in his fourth year as head girls swim coach.
Some of the key swimmers are Sr. Taylyn Garcia, Sr. Tekodah Garcia, Jr. Hady Martinez, Sr. Bret Lyon, and Fr. Brianna Pinon. They are some of top swimmers to begin the season, however, over half of the team is comprised of the freshman and sophomore classes. It is considered a rebuilding year overall with a lot of possibilities and potential from a young roster.
