Hugoton Sweeps Liberal Softball in Liberal

Hugoton’s softball team came to  Liberal and won both game Friday afternoon and evening 6-1 and 4-3.

The Eagles jumped on the Redskins in the first scoring four runs.  Hugoton out-hit Liberal 8-5.  Zoey Torres came on in relief going 5 and 1/3 allowing two unearned runs with four strikeouts and one walk.

In game two, Hugoton scored a run in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie.  Zoey Torres pitched the distance allowing two earned runs.  LHS out-hit HHS 7-6.  Lizzy Mannel was 3-3 with two doubles.  Zoey Torres added a double.

Hugoton is 8-2 and Liberal is 4-9.  LHS plays at Syracuse on Monday at 4pm.
