The Hays Indians played their first WAC basketball game in their new school on Tuesday night.  They made sure it was a night to forget for the visiting Liberal Redskins.  Hays handled Liberal 64-44.  It is the 17th win over the Redskins for the Indians.

Hays led 22-14 after one quarter.  Liberal cut the lead to 24-21 Hays.  The Indians went on a run of 14-3 to lead 38-24.  A James Fieser 3 made it 38-27 and that was the halftime score.  Juan Diego helped keep the Redskins in the game in the first half making four three pointers.  Hays outscored Liberal 18-5 in the third quarter and led 56-32 after three.

Juan Diego was Epic Touch Player of the Game with a career high 21 points.  James Fieser scored 17.

Hays is  3-1 and 1-0 in the WAC. The Redskins are 0-4 and 0-1 in the WAC.   Liberal hosts Wichita North for their home opener Friday night at about 7:15 on 1270 and 92.3.
