Hays Height Helps Indians Hold Off Skins

The Hays Indians have starting players who are 6’10” and 6’6”.  Liberal’s tallest player Saturday night was 6’1”.  It proved to be too tall of an order as Hays held off the visiting Liberal Redskins 57-44 Saturday night in Hays.  The game had been weathered out on Friday.
Hays led 27-20 at halftime.  Hays made 50 percent of their shots while LHS made 31 percent.  The Indians made 4-6 three pointers and Liberal was 6-24 from distance.  Hays was 19-30 at the foul line and Liberal was 10-15.
Lee Hatcher has 13 to lead the Angry Red and Alex Lopez had 12.
The Redskins are 4-4 and 1-1 in the WAC while Hays is 4-2 and 1-0 in the WAC.  Liberal hosts Garden City Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
