Haskell County Deputies Make DUI Arrest

On May 1, 2026, while conducting routine patrol operations, Haskell County Deputies observed a vehicle failing to maintain lanes while traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 56 near County Road HH in Satanta. Upon arrival within city limits, deputies continued to follow the vehicle and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop. Upon contact with the driver, identified as Wiley McCormack Stanfill, deputies were advised that Stanfill’s driver’s license held an interlock restriction, which he did not currently have installed in the vehicle, and observed that his speech was slurred. Stanfill was asked to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, to which he consented, and later denied taking a Preliminary Breath Test. Once completion of the test, deputies placed Stanfill under arrest and subsequently transported to the Haskell County Jail. Upon arrival, Stanfill agreed to a Drug Recognition Expert Evaluation conducted by the Kansas Highway Patrol. At the conclusion of the evaluation, a blood draw was requested for further investigation, to which Stanfill denied. Deputies then booked and processed Stanfill into the Haskell County Jail for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol; second conviction; drugs and alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a required ignition interlock device.
