On April 18, 2026, Haskell County Deputies responded to a report of a battery that occurred at a residence located near County Road 50 in rural Haskell County. Once on scene, deputies contacted the reporting party and one victim, who appeared to be injured as a result from the reported battery. Upon further investigation, the reporting party advised that the suspect, identified as Nimrod Aldana-Garcia, arrived at the residence, became violent towards the victim, and left the area. Deputies relayed this information to Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Ulysses Police Department, where Aldana-Garcia was known to reside. The victim was subsequently transported to Satanta District Hospital by the reporting party for further medical evaluation and treatment. On April 19, 2026, the Ulysses Police Department contacted the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office, advising personnel that Aldana-Garcia had been located at his residence in Ulysses and was taken into custody without further incident. Aldana-Garcia was subsequently transported to the Haskell County Jail, where he was booked and processed for aggravated battery; knowingly cause great bodily harm or disfigurement, criminal damage to property; without consent (value <$1000), and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
On April 18, 2026, Haskell County Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle traveling westbound on the 900th block of West Edelle Avenue in Sublette. The vehicle crossed over the centerline and side swiped a wooden road sign on its driver’s side, causing it to travel through the ditch and strike a culvert. Upon arrival, Haskell County EMS and Sublette Fire accompanied deputies to further evaluate the incident and those involved. The driver was found unconscious and was immediately transported to Satanta District Hospital for further medical treatment. While enroute, Sublette Fire and Haskell County Deputies remained on scene to arrange transportation of the vehicle and subsequently returned to their stations.
On April 19, 2026, during routine patrol operations, Haskell County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near Mile Marker 39 on U.S. Highway 83 in Sublette after observing a vehicle speeding in a construction zone. Prior to contacting the driver, identified as Angel Corona-Martinez, Haskell County Dispatch advised deputies that an active failure to appear arrest warrant out of Osage County was issued for Corona-Martinez. With this information, deputies proceeded to place Corona-Matinez under arrest and transported him to the Haskell County Jail where he was booked and processed without further incident.
On April 19, 2026, Haskell County Deputies conducted a traffic stop directly south of the U.S. Highway 83 and U.S. Highway 160 Junction in Sublette after observing a vehicle that failed to maintain lanes. Deputies proceeded to contact the driver, identified as Francisco Villa, and gathered additional observation and information pertaining to the traffic stop. Upon further investigation, deputies requested Villa to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and Preliminary Breath Test, to which he consented. Once complete, Villa was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and DUI; second offense. Deputies subsequently transported Villa to the Haskell County Jail where he was booked and processed without further incident.
