Hankins and Najar Toss Combined No Hitter

Two Liberal Bee Jay pitchers combined on an eight inning no hitter Friday night at Brent Gould Field.   Tyler Hankins pitched five hit-less innings and Adrian Najar worked three innings without allowing a hit as the B.J.’s blanked the visiting Denver Cougars 10-0 Friday night.

The Bee Jays scored a run in the first as Walker Polk tripled off the wall in right driving home Isaac Webb.  The Bee Jays added two in the third.  Coldon Kiser singled to lead off the inning.  Isaac Webb walked and Walker Polk reached on a fielder’s choice.  Ethan Calder lined a two RBI double to left center for the 3-0 lead.  Ethan Calder doubled to lead off the sixth and scored on a Mateo Garcia RBI single for the 4-0 lead.  The B.J.’s scored two in the seventh.  Owen May singled and Isaac Webb reached on a fielder’s choice.  Walker Polk singled.  Ethan Calder doubled home two.  Liberal scored four in the eighth to end the game in a run rule.  Mateo Garcia led off the inning with a single.  Nick Husovsky reached on a fielder’s choice.  Coldon Kiser singled.  Owen May walked.  Isaac Webb lined a three RBI double to left center.  Walker Polk singled home the game ending run.

Tyler Hankins worked five innings with six strikeouts and five walks.  Adrian Najar went three innings with five strikeouts and one walk.  Ethan Calder was 3-4 with three doubles and four RBI’s.  Walker Polk was 3-5 with two RBI’s.  Mateo Garcia and Coldon Kiser had 2-4 games.

Denver is 8-7 overall and 7-6 in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League.  Liberal is 10-3 overall and 6-1 in the RMBL.  The same two teams meet Saturday night at 7pm with the Dugout Show at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3.  Southern Pioneer is the buyout sponsor.
