Free Throws and Turnovers Costly for LHS Girls

KSCB News - December 13, 2014 7:43 am

Former Lady Saint coach Jim Littell used to say may free throws and two footers and you will win most games. Friday night in the Big House, Liberal’s girls were 12-28 at the foul line and had 29 turnovers in a 54-46 loss to the Hereford Lady Whitefaces on night one of the Conestoga/Community Bank Classic.

LHS trailed 14-5 after one and Hereford led 26-11 just before half and it was 26-13 at the half. LHS cut that lead to nine at 37-28 after three quarters and made it a six point game (40-34) before falling by eight. Liberal’s Kelly Ramirez scored 11 in the loss. Liberal is 0-3 and plays 0-2 Clinton Saturday at 4:30 on 1270 and kscbnews.net. Clinton lost to Gallup 64-45 Friday afternoon in the Big House.
