Deja Vu for Lady Saints

It was deja vu all over again.  For the second straight year, the Seward Lady Saints finished their season at Coffeyville.  The Lady Ravens topped the Lady Saints 87-62 in the quarterfinals of the Region 6 Tournament Tuesday night at Nellis Hall in Coffeyville.  Seward finished 20-12 for a second straight year.  The Lady Ravens led by as many as 29.

The game was tied 11-11 at the 3:22 mark.  Coffeyville led 18-13 after one quarter.  Coffeyville led 25-13 at the 7:49 mark of the second quarter.  Coffeyville’s lead ballooned to 32-16 as the Lady Ravens led 34-20 at halftime.  Seward jumped ahead of Seward 47-25 with 6:26 to play in the third.  Coffeyville led 58-38 after three.  It was 76-48 after three.

The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is Tyniah Smith with 16 points and 14 rebounds.  Kimora Fagan scored 17 points.  Grace Posch added 11.

Seward shot 32 percent from the field and went 6-22 from three point range for 27 percent.  SCCC was 18-20 from the foul line.  Coffeyville shot 50 percent making 10-20 from three point range and 17-24 from the free throw line.  CCC out rebounded SCCCC 41-33.

Coffeyville has won 10 of the last 11 against Seward and improves to 23-8.  Seward loses in the quarterfinal round for a third straight year.  Seward fishes 20-12 which was also their record last year.
