Cameron Cartwright KJCCC Player of the Week

Liberal, Kansas – After leading the Seward County Saints to a 4-1 record this past week with a series win over Pratt to wrap up the regular season, sophomore Cameron Cartwright was named the KJCCC West Player of the Week for the second time in the 2024 season as the Saints wrap up their regular season with three of the last four player of the week honors.

Cartwright was a big-time player for the Saints over the past week, helping Seward County to a 4-1 week with a win over Colby to finish that series while going 3-1 over Pratt to take the final series of the regular season. He recorded 10 hits in 18 at bats for an average of 55.6 when at the plate while also recording 8 runs, 9 RBIs, 3 2Bs, and 3 Home run bombs that led the Saints to a big week before heading into postseason action.

Cartwright finished his sophomore season with a .353 batting average with 66 hits, 15 2Bs, 10 HRs, 42 RBIs, and 56 runs while leading Seward County to a 30-25 overall record and going 18-14 in Jayhawk conference action.

The Saints now enter postseason play this Thursday as Seward County travels out East to take on Kansas City Kansas in round one of the Region VI playoffs with game one on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM and game two taking place on Friday at the same time and place.
