The Liberal Bee Jays won their Rocky Mountain League game against their long time foes Wednesday night. The Bee Jays beat the Boulder Collegians 9-4 at Brent Gould Field. The two teams have been playing for decades.
Boulder scored three in the first. Liberal responded with one in the second and six in the third to lead 7-3. Boulder scored one in the fifth to cut the score to 7-4. The B.J.’s added insurance with runs in the sixth and eighth.
Liberal out-hit Boulder 10-8. Boulder had two errors and the Bee Jays played error-less baseball. Noah Giovannelli went 3-5 with a double. Kaden Isola was 2-4 with two doubles, two RBI’s, and two runs. Seth Green was 2-4. Brooks Kappelmann started and worked four innings with four strikeouts and two walks. Anthony Edwards went four shutout and hitless innings. Aiden Cook closed it out with a scoreless inning.
Boulder is 1-4. Liberal is 3-1 and 3-0 in the Rocky Mountain. The same two teams play Thursday night at 7pm at Brent Gould Field. Pre-game at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM. Electric Motor Service is the buyout sponsor.
