Bee Jays Corral Collegians

Playing in Boulder for the first time in six years, the Liberal Bee Jays topped the Boulder Collegians 10-1 Thursday night at Scott Carpenter Field in Boulder.

The Bee Jays scored three in the third.  Williams Bologna singled and Cooper Kardokus rolled an RBI single up the middle.  Ben Finnegan ripped an RBI double over the right fielder’s head.  The third run scored on a Boulder error.  Liberal scored four in the seventh.  Charlie Ziola led off the inning with a single.  Cooper Kardokus hit a two run home run to center.  Cade Adams singled home a run.  In the eighth, William Bologna doubled and scored on a Cooper Kardokus sac fly to right.  Adam Swanson blasted a two run home run to right center in the eighth for the 10-0 lead.

Liberal out-hit Boulder 11-4.  Liberal had two errors and Boulder had three.

Andrew Banda pitched four shutout innings with six strikeouts and no walks.  He allowed one hit.  Skylar Raley went three scoreless and hitless innings.  Jhett Huffman pitched a scoreless eighth.

Cooper Kardokus went 2-4 with a home run and four RBI’s.  Adam Swanson was 2-4 with a two run home run.  William Bologna and Ben Finnegan had two hits a piece.

Boulder is 2-7.  Liberal is 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  The Bee Jays play the Fort Collins Foxes Wednesday night at City Park with pre-game at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
