Barbier and the Bee Jays Shut Out Angels

Luke Barbier pitched eight shut out innings and the Liberal Bee Jays blanked the Gameday Angels from Parker, Colorado 8-0 Sunday night at Brent Gould Field.  It is Liberal’s 16th consecutive win.  Liberal out-hit the Angels 14-3.

Liberal scored a run in the third.  Gavin Brzozowski doubled to right center to lead off the inning.  Keaton Grady singled him home.  Liberal scored four in the fourth.  Cooper Hext singled and stole second.  Ryan Leary singled him home.  Caden Hensley singled.  Leary faked tagging from third on an infield pop up but the Angels second baseman threw the ball past home allowing Leary to score.  Gavin Brzozowski lined a two run home run to right that hit off the top of the wall and went out. The Bee Jays scored three more in the sixth.  Gavin Brzozowski doubled.  Daylan Pena walked and Tyce Armstrong rocked a two RBI double off the wall in left.  Liberal scored another run on an error.

Barbier pitched eight strong innings with 10 strikeouts and three walks as he improved to 4-0.  Jett Brown pitched a perfect ninth.  Gavin Brzozowski was 3-5 with a homer and two doubles.  Caden Hensley, Cooper Hext, Tyce Armstrong, and Keaton Grady had two hits a piece.

Liberal is 25-4 overall and 20-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  The Angels are 11-12.  The same two teams meet Monday night at 7pm to wrap up the four game series.  The game airs on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.   Air time is 6:45.  State Farm Insurance Crystal Kinsinger is the buyout sponsor.
