Two of Liberal’s three losses this season have in the past two Mondays.  That’s after a 7-1 loss Monday evening in suburban Denver to the Rocky Mountain Lumberjacks at Lone Tree High School.  All three of Liberal’s losses have come after a day off.

The Bee Jays scored a run in the top of the fourth before the Lumberjacks scored five in the fourth and two in the fifth.  Liberal actually out-hit the Lumberjacks 10-5 but  the Bee Jays had three errors.  Caeden Trenkle was 3-5 while Cayde Ward and Aidan Shepardson had two hits a piece.  Ward had two doubles.

Garrett Bonnett pitched 3 and 1/3 innings allowing five runs but only two were earned.  He struck out six and walked one.  Calvin Hunt pitched 1 and 2/3 innings allowing one run with four walks and one strikeout.  Eric Heiman continued to dominate with three scoreless and hitless innings,  five strikeouts, and no walks.

Liberal falls to 16-3 and plays the Lumberjacks Tuesday at 2 pm central time at Lone Tree High School in suburban Denver.
