Liberal junior runner Angel Viveros is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Viveros led the Redskins to a meet win at Guymon thanks in part to his first place performance. He ran the race in 17:10 breaking the meet record. Saturday in Newton, Viveros was even faster running the race in 17:04 to take third.

Viveros is no stranger to success at LHS. Viveros was 4th at state last year helping LHS to a fourth place finish. He took 22nd at state as a freshman. Viveros has also qualified for state both years in track on the 4×800 relay team.
