A Shining Senior Night for Lady Redskins

Liberal parents wanted to make sure the Liberal Lady Redskins had a night to shine.  They helped the student Rowdy Crowd form a spirit line as the starters were announced in the last regular season home game.  Liberal put it all together on Friday night for Senior Night in the Big House.  Liberal defeated Hays 62-29 with a running clock in the fourth quarter.  Liberal shot 58 percent and only committed seven turnovers in the win.  The seniors improve to 37-0 in the Big House.

The Lady Redskins jumped on Hays early for a 20-8 first quarter lead.  Liberal used a 18-2 run to  lead 28-10 in the second quarter and led 34-12 at halftime.  Liberal led 52-22 after three quarters.

Machia Mullens led Liberal with 17 points.  Aubrey Warden had 10 points and six rebounds.  Katie Horyna had 10 points and four assists to go along with three steals.  Ashley Carrillo had eight points and six assists.

Liberal wins their 51 straight regular season game.  It’s their 27th straight win at home and 21st consecutive WAC win.  Liberal finishes the regular season 6-0 in the Big House with one or two home playoff games coming.  Liberal has claimed five straight against Hays.  Liberal is 17-0 overall and 6-0 in the WAC.  Hays is 4-12 and 1-5 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Cimarron Tuesday at about 6:30 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
