A Resounding Run Derails Redskins

The building was rocking.  The upset minded Liberal Redskins had surged to a 17-13 lead in the second quarter.  Hays called timeout, went on a 15-0 run, and kept Liberal at arms length for the rest of the night as the Indians blew out the Redskins 65-41 Friday night in the Big House.

The Redskins led 10-9 before Hays took a 13-10 lead after one.  Liberal jumped out to a 17-13 lead early in the second quarter.  After a timeout, the Indians ripped off an 11-0 run to lead 24-17 with 2:23.  The Hays run extended to 15-0 as they led 28-17.  Hays led 28-19 at the half.  Hays jumped to third quarter leads of 35-19 and 43-27 with 2:59 remaining.  The Indians led 50-32 after three.

The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is Adrian Moreno-Gonzalez with 13 points.  Alan Olvera scored eight.

Hays wins their 18th in a row over Liberal who loses their 38th straight WAC game.  Hays is 15-4 overall and 5-0 in the WAC.  Liberal is 1-16 overall and 0-5 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Great Bend Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
