Seward Faces Miami-Dade to Begin NJCAA Volleyball Tournament

The Region 6 champion Seward volleyball team is the #11 seed and will play the #6 seed Miami-Dade in the NJCAA Tournament Thursday.  Seward learned of their schedule as they gathered together in the Green House to watch the release of the NJCAA Volleyball Championship bracket.  The teams square off Thursday morning at 9am in West Plains, Missouri.  Saturday in Liberal, Seward won their ninth Region 6 title and clinched their ninth trip to the national tournament.  Seward also made the tournament in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2016, 2018,  and 2019.  Seward was the NJCAA runner up in 2019 and advanced to the semifinals in 2018 and 2019.  Seward finished 5th in 1999 and 2000.  Coach Geno Frugoli joins Pat Stangle (1999, 2000, and 2001), Brad Settle (2002 and 2003), Thais Allen (2016), and Tony Trifonov (2018 and 2019) to coach SCCC volleyball teams to the national tournament.
