Regional Week for the Redskins

It’s a busy week for Liberal Redskin athletes as it’s time for regionals.  Liberal’s boys golf team is at Andover’s Terradyne for 6A regional golf Monday.  The competing teams are Derby, Dodge City, Garden City, Liberal, Wichita East, Campus, Wichita North, Wichita-Southeast, and Wichita West.  Tee time in 10am.

Tuesday, Liberal baseball and girls soccer go to Derby.  The Redskin baseball team is the #11 seed and plays #6 seed Topeka.  LHS is 9-11 and Topeka is 12-8.   The game begins at 2pm with Redskin Pre-game at 1:45 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and the Legend App.  14-6 #3 seed Derby hosts 7-12 #14 seed Wichita East after Liberal’s game.  The winners meet Tuesday night to determine who goes to state.

The LHS girls soccer team is 6-9 and the #11 seed playing 10-6 and #6 seed Derby at 6pm.  The winner plays Thursday against the winner of #3 seed 12-3-1 Manhattan and #14 seed 3-12-1 Wichita Southeast.

The LHS softball team plays Wednesday in Topeka.  The Redskins are the 10-10 #8 seed and play #9 seed 10-10 Lawrence Free State at 2pm Wednesday at Washburn Rural High School.  The winner of the Liberal-Free State game plays the winner of #1 seed 19-1 Washburn Rural and #16 seed 4-16 Campus.  The winners meet Wednesday night to determine who goes to state.

On Friday, Liberal’s track team goes to Wichita Northwest as part of a 6A regional.  Field events compete at noon with running events at 2pm and finals at 4pm.  The teams competing are Dodge City, Garden City, Campus, Hutchinson, Liberal, Wichita East, Wichita Northwest, Wichita South, and Wichita West.
