Horyna Leads Liberal Past Hays

Bree Horyna poured in a career high 24 points as the #10 Liberal Lady Redskins knocked off Hays 62-50 Friday night in Hays. The Lady Redskins are 2-0 in the WAC with the win in their first game of the second semester.
Liberal led 15-7 after one quarter and 30-13 at halftime in Hays. The Lady Red lead ballooned to 20 at 48-28 after three quarters. Hays cut the lead to 10 at 55-45 but never drew closer.
Horyna’s career high 24 came after a previous career high of 19 December 17 in Liberal against Hays. Hailey Contreras scored 12. Ashley Carrillo scored 11 in the win. Keyona Hall dropped in 8.
Liberal wins their ninth straight against Hays and their fourth straight at Hays. Liberal is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the WAC. Hays is 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Garden City Tuesday night at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.
