Saints Drop Third Straight with Loss at GCCC

Brock Kappelmann - December 9, 2021 6:25 am

The Seward County Saints dropped their third straight game with a 96-83 loss to the Garden City Broncbusters Wednesday night at Conestoga Arena in Garden City.  The Saints dropped their third straight game.

Seward came out ready to play in the early going jumping out to a 19-11 lead.  But they struggled to score consistently and after SCCC claimed a 24-20 lead, the Broncbusters pleased their home crowd with a 20-4 run to lead 40-28.  The Busters led 42-30 at halftime.  Garden City blistered SCCC’s defense in the second half with 53 points and led by as many as 23 at 77-54 and 80-57.

The Busters shot 49 percent and held the Saints to 36 percent from the field.  Seward made just 7-35 of their three point attempts.  Garden City out rebounded SCCC 45-34.

The loss snaps Seward’s three game win streak in Garden City.  Seward falls to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the Jayhawk and Garden City is 8-3 and 2-3 in the Jayhawk.  The Saints host Cowley Saturday night at 8 for their last home game before Christmas.  The game airs on 107.5 and the KSCB and The Legend App.  Flooring America and Furniture Outlet and Brown’s Shoefit are the game sponsors and have free tickets.
