Saints Corral Colby

The Seward County Saints had to forfeit three games recently because they left their bench area after the Dodge City game.  However, in games they have actually played, they have won five of the last six.  The Saints beat Colby 78-65 Saturday night in the Green House.

The Saints led most of the way against the program which won last year’s Jayhawk West championship.  Seward led 15-9 and 22-13 before the Trojans made a run and tied the game at 28-28.  Seward took a 35-31 lead at the half.  Seward led 51-41 with 12:15 left.  Seward built the lead up to 57-41 and 64-46 for their biggest lead.

Seward shot 52 percent from the field and made 6-19 from three.  Seward was just 6-10 at the foul line.  Colby shot 43 percent and SCCC forced 24 Trojan turnovers.   Colby was 4-18 from three and 19-25 at the foul line.

Erik Pratt scored all 20 of his points in the first half.  Ahmad Gallimore scored a season high 12 and Bee McCrary added 12 points with five assists, no turnovers, and three steals.  Mike Rivera added 10.

Seward is officially 7-11 (7-8 in games played) and Colby is 5-8.  Seward plays at Northwest Tech Monday night at 6 pm central time with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45 on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
