Cerda and Payton Qualify for State

The Liberal cross county boys and girls competed in their 6A regional at Wichita Saturday morning.  The event was held at the Cessna Activities Center and hosted by Wichita East.  Two Liberal girls, freshman Daniela Crda and senior Halle Payton made state.  The LHS girls took 5th and the boys were 7th. Daniela Cerda made state by taking 7th with a  20:14 which is a PR.  Halle Payton took 17th at 21:42,to make state.  Hallie West was 25th in 22:36. As for the boys,  Edwin Murillo was 15th at 17:28.  Aaron Barboza took 23rd at 17:42.  Alex Lopez was 24th at 17:42.   Daniela and Halle qualified for state and compete at 4 Mile Creek Resort in Andover Saturday.
