Soccer Games Move Back an Hour in WAC

Brock Kappelmann - August 22, 2019 2:36 pm

Due to a shortage of soccer officials, the Western Athletic Conference is being proactive.  The WAC, other than Hays, is moving soccer games back one hour to cater to soccer officials.  The JV games will be at 5 with varsity games under the lights at about 6:45.  Previously, the JV games began at 4.  Officials are asked to be at the venues 30 minutes before the contests.  This means officials need to be at WAC soccer stadiums by 4:30 rather than 3:30.  Hays home games will remain at 4 for the JV and 5:45 for varsity because their venue does not have lights.  Liberal plays at home five times in the regular season beginning with a September 12 game vs. Great Bend.
