Joe Denoyer - May 23, 2019 2:57 pm

A strong gust of wind blew across Highway 83 in Seward County causing a semi to overturn.

The accident happened 1 mile north of Liberal on Highway 83 at approximately 10:55am. A 2019 Freightliner semi being driven by Christopher Marshall, 39, of Springfield Missouri was southbound on 83 when a gust of wind blew the semi across the road and it came to rest on its side.

Marshall and a passenger in the semi, Jerry Clayton, 50, of Valdosta Georgia, both were taken to Southwest Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.
Marshall was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident while Clayton was in the sleeper of the truck.
