Alarcon Moves to Goal Keeper in Win at Great Bend

Brock Kappelmann - April 3, 2019 6:27 am

Liberal’s girls soccer team has had some attrition at goal keeper this season.  So with a key WAC game at Great Bend on Tuesday night, Liberal head coach Carlos Ruiz moved Kim Alarcon to goal keeper.  It most certainly worked.  Alarcon and the Redskins pitched a shutout in a 1-0 win at Great Bend Tuesday evening.  The all WAC and all state player had seven saves in the win.  Sophomore Bryanna Banuelos scored the winning goal 15 minutes into the second half.  Liberal had multiple chances to have blown the game open leading shots on goal 20-7.  Liberal is 3-3 and 2-0 in the WAC.  The Lady Red travels to Hays on Thursday.  The LHS JV won 3-0.
