Lady Redskins 10-0 for First Time Since 1979

The Liberal Lady Redskins have advanced to the championship game of the Salina Invitational Tournament for a third consecutive season.  Liberal defeated the Salina South Lady Cougars 54-37  Friday afternoon at Kansas Weslyan University in Salina.

The Lady Red led 11-7 after one quarter and 27-12 at the half.  Liberal led 47-21 before going on to win.  Liberal’s Katie Horyna led the way with 18 for LHS.  Machia Mullens scored 14 while Aubrey Warden had nine and Audrey Gilmore had eight.   The Lady Redskins were 6-16 from three point range and 10-16 at the foul line.  Salina South was 5-12 from three point range and 4-7 at the free throw line.

The Lady Redskins are 10-0 for the first time since 1979.  That team went 17-6.  Salina South is 3-7.  Liberal plays Salina Central in the championship game Saturday night at 5:30 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
