Saints Go to the Paint to Snap Streak

After losing four straight and six out of eight, the Seward County Saints beat the Allen Red Devils Saturday afternoon in Allen Gymnasium in Iola. The Saints got the ball inside effectively and shot 52 percent from the field and won despite shooting 1-11 from three point range.

The Saints led by as many as 15 in the first half at 34-19. The Saints settled for a 36-28 halftime lead. Allen whittled into the lead and cut the SCCC lead to 48-47. Allen rallied while the Saints misfired at the foul line going 9-18 in the second half after making 9-10 in the first half.

Isiah Small scored 20 with six rebounds. It was his fourth game scoring 20 or more this season. Ke’Sean Davis had 18 points and six rebounds. Hegel Augustin added 13 points and eight boards.

Seward is 14-10 overall and 10-11 in the Jayhawk. Allen is 6-19 and 4-17 in the Jayhawk.
